Trade war could hit rare earths: Lynas chief

The global rare earth market could be disrupted by the US-China trade war, Lynas chief executive Amanda Lacaze warned yesterday.
Rare earths were included on the list of $US200 billion of ­exports from China that the Trump administration last week said would be hit by 25 per cent tariffs.
ASX-listed Lynas is the only significant producer of rare earths outside of China, with an esti­mated 12 per cent of world output last year.
